In today’s technological era, fitness in society has become a matter of grave concern. People are much busy in their day to day work but success in any field can be achieved only with physical fitness. It is well said, ‘A healthy mind lives in a healthy body’. So to make the body fit in order to face the challenges of life with optimum energy and positivity, honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has launched ‘Fit India Movement’ on 29th August 2019 and appealed to make this movement a public campaign.
Following the same mission, CBSE has initiated ‘Fit India School Week’ to enhance healthy lifestyle among students. In the same sequence Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial School, Vikas Nagar observed ‘Fit India School Week’ with massive participation of students in different activities undertaken during the week.
Day – 1 Yoga
“Practice yoga to transform your body and mind physically, mentally and spiritually.”
On the inception of the programme, Yoga was performed in morning assembly. It was an enlightening session promoting an alignment of mind, body & soul.
Day – 2 Free Hand Exercises
“To enjoy the glow of good health, you must exercise.”
Free hand exercises for all were diligently taken up by the students and an open session was held in the assembly to intimate the importance of fitness in human life.
Day – 3 Poster Making
Students enthusiastically participated in Poster making competition on the theme ‘Fit body –Fit mind – Fit environment’ and explored their imagination.
Day – 4
Numerous physical activities like dances, gardening, skipping and different games and sports were conducted in the vigilance of sports team.

Day – 5 Sports Quiz
Not only in playground but also in the classrooms & library, the imprints of Fit India Movement were spotted where students participated in Essay writing competition and Inter house Quiz competition based on Arunachal Pradesh & Meghalaya
Day – 6 EK BHARAT SHRESTHRA BHARAT
‘Fit India School Week’ was over with the massive participation of students, staff & parents in different activities leaving a remarkable message of healthy lifestyle for all.
